"You can dig it!" Iris Class & Open Garden - Session 2

Is your Iris patch blooming less and less as years go by? Then, this is a "No Miss" class for you! Learn how to dig, groom and successfully plant IRISES - those beautiful Princesses of the early spring garden!

July through October is the time of year to rejuvenate these sleeping gems. Roxie Nall, our resident 'Iris Lady,' will be here, shovel in hand, to lift some of the 100+ varieties of very special irises in our garden, including those that repeat bloom in the fall! Hands-on Demonstrations at 10 & 2.

We'll offer special pricing on all newly dug irises, and a 'raffle drawing' every hour for free plants.

Bonus -- Our Butterfly Garden will be in full bloom, with lots of winged visitors to see.

"2011's Perfume Launch Party" & Open Garden

'Perfume Launch' Champagne Events at 10 & 2

Every spring we harvest petals from 800 Bulgarian, Persian and French rose bushes that we grow solely for the purpose of producing our perfume and Rose Water. To the best of our knowledge, we're the only company in California handcrafting these pure, natural products. After a summer of bottling and preparation, it's time to come revel in the fragrant romance of our newly released perfume, Rose Embrace.

Each bottle of perfume requires the petals of 500 or more roses. When distilled in our copper still, a single batch yields only two to three drops of precious rose oil -- and only eight ounces of our elegant Rose Water. The rose oil is aged from May until September to allow its complex scents to fully evolve. Production is strictly limited to 250 bottles of perfume and 600 bottles of Rose Water. This is the very first day they are available for purchase!

At 10 am & 2 pm our lovely rose maidens will offer aromatic samples to our guests, as well as complimentary glasses of Rose Sparkler, a blend of Rose Water and non-alcoholic Champagne. Special rose-flavored delicacies will also be served, as well as a "fragrance sampler" you can use to up your scent IQ.

Visit Michael's Museum of Purse Atomizers, featuring rare and beautiful atomizers from the 1890s to the 1960s. See examples or art nouveau, art deco and modern. Also are famous atomizer designers, such as DeVilbiss, Marcel Franck, Ann Upton, etc. are included.
